Beautiful historic cottage close to Lake Michigan and the Kalamazoo river. I disagree with previous reviews as the cottage was clean and there was plenty of hot water. We couldn’t get the WiFi to work but were okay with that. Walking distance to the lake and river. Added bonus is an easy walk to the Saugatuck ferry for a short cut (without a car to park) to downtown Saugatuck!
“We (two couples) had a wonderful stay at the charming craftsman’s cottage for our first visit to the Douglas/Saugatuck area (we knew very little about this great community before our visit and will definitely be coming back!). Loved the location on a quiet, tree-lined street – great for morning walks along the lakeshore. We appreciated the thoughtful and artful details throughout the cottage and the multiple outdoor seating areas with a fire-pit / grill. In addition to the more heavily trafficked downtown Saugatuck (Uncommon Coffee Roasters and Grow for breakfast were favorites), we enjoyed the charms of downtown Douglas – its galleries, Kismet bakery, Wild Dog Grille (Austin Cheesesteak!), Everyday People Cafe (Bloody Mary bar), and Borrowed Time (wine cafe with live outdoor music). ”
